Tamara Trunova

In 1999-2004, she studied at the Kyiv National Linguistic University, specializing in “translator”. In 2008, she graduated from the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after I. K. Karpenko-Karyi, directing faculty, the course of People’s Artist of Ukraine, professor Eduard Mytnytskyi. Combines creative and teaching activities (in 2008-2013 – at the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Karyi, on the directing course of Eduard Mytnytskyi; from 2018 – artistic director of the directing course).

Since 2011, she has been working at the Left Bank Theater, where she has been the Chief Director of the theater since 2019. In 2016 and 2018, she was a member of the jury of the Edinburgh Fringe International Festival (Great Britain). In 2016, Tamara Trunova became the winner of the competitive theater program Taking the Stage. The performance “Sasha, take out the trash” based on the play by Nataliya Vorozhbyt won the 1st place in the “Kyiv Score-2017” rating, and “Bad Roads” based on the play by Natalia Vorozhbyt won the 1st place in the “Kyiv Score-2018″ rating”, for the play “Passenger in a suitcase” Tamara Trunova was awarded the diploma “For the elegance of the director’s form” at the 1st All-Ukrainian festival of young directors named after Les Kurbas (2012). The play “Bad Roads” became the winner of the II All-Ukrainian theater festival-award “GRA” in the nominations: the best dramatic play, the best musical solution, the best directorial work (2019). Tamara Trunova, as the author of the play “Ulun”, participated in the “Lyubimivka” Festival of Young Drama, where she received a special award from the jury (2017). “Kyiv Pectoral” Theater Award: the play “Tom Sawyer” was nominated as “Best Play for Children” (2008), the play “Passenger in a Suitcase” based on U. Hub’s play “Near the Ark at Eight” (2012) became a laureate in in the “Best Play for Children” nomination, the play “Two young ladies in the direction of the north” was nominated as “Best chamber play” (2013).

For 2023, the play “Home” (author – Nicola McCartney) was included in the short list of the “GRA” Festival-Award in the nomination “Best Chamber Performance”.

In 2021, Tamara Trunova became a laureate of the “Women in Arts” award in the “Women in the Theater” category.

In 2022, she received the Shevchenko Prize in the nomination “Theatrical Art”
